The fastest production car ever?
The ongoing race to claim the worlds fastest production car is far from over. Swedish Boutique car manufacturer Koenigsegg have produced a car which they believe can achieve this title and take the crown as the worlds fastest and most powerful production car. Appropriately named the Koenigsegg One:1 it earns its name from having an equal power to weight ratio, which is almost unheard of for a car of this class. The One:1 generates a whopping 1 Megawatt of power, yes you heard right; that’s a million watts!
So what do you get when you combine 1,360 horse trots in a car that weighs a measly 1,360 Kg? Well, speed of course, and plenty of it. Koenigsegg have stated that their ‘mega car’ can reach 400km/h in 20 secs, and 300km/h in just 13.2 secs. The Swedes also claim that it can reach an untested top speed of 280Mp/h, thats faster than any other production car we’ve seen.
The technology put into this beast is quite simply insane. Almost all of the car is made from carbon fibre, including the wheels, seats, wings, and even the sun visors. They have also harnessed the use of 3D-printed parts for the exhaust tip by using the worlds largest 3D printed titanium piece ever.
Unfortunately, if you wanted to grab the fastest car in the world it won’t come cheap. Estimated at $2 million and only 6 units worldwide selling out was not a problem.
Move over Bugatti Veyron theres a new king in town.
