LA Auto Show 2014 highlights

The annual LA Auto Show opened its doors to the public yesterday for a sneak peek into the latest of the automobile industry and what we can expect to see in the upcoming year. I know a lot of you will be assuming american muscle cars and Cadillacs, but we have been presented with a wide range of cars from all over the world from this years LA auto show. Take a look.

Bentley Grand Convertible, yes it’s grand

The new Bentley Grand appears to be a convertible version of the Mulsanne Speed at first glance, but the Bentley Chairman and CEO, Wolfgang Dürheimer has stated otherwise.

As usual we wont be seeing a lack of power from Bentley as the Grand Convertible will be equipped with a 6.75-litre engine holding 530 horsepower.  Bentley claim that its latest convertible model will be “fashioned entirely by hand from the very finest materials,”. Exotic materials are usually no surprise when it comes to Bentley, evidently the rear tonneau is the largest piece of wood veneer ever laid on a production car.

One can see Bentleys attempt to compete with the luxurious Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, and will surely bring some competition to the world of overly excessive grand convertibles, regardless if there are only two.

LEXUS LF-C2 Concept

Lexus unveiled it latest LF-C2 which closely resembled the LF-LC model without the roof. Its still uncertain if these slick new models will be put through production just yet. What I do know is that Lexus have seriously stepped up their game on the field of design.

Audi Prologue Concept- Possible A9?

Audi unveiled its debut of the Prologue concept, a clear demonstration of what we can expect from the German automakers in the coming years. The new styling will be found on the upcoming designs of the A6, A7 and A8 versions, but most importantly hints at a possible A9 model. With a 4.0-Litre, V8 and 605 BHP it will no doubt compete with the outrageous RS7 models.

2015 Porsche 911 GTS

Porsche has revealed another variant of the 911 at this years L.A auto show, which they have somewhere differentiated from the other 19 models. The new GTS allows the buyer to choose between a rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, and the regular coupe or the cabriolet body shapes.

2016 Jaguar F-Type

Classical British carmaker Jaguar are at it again with their latest release of the much anticipated Jaguar F-type. The 2016 F-type R model will have all-wheel drive standard, and a nice 550 horsepower under the hood. Jaguar have also decided to go with the traditional six-speed manual transmission, which is obviously a must for driving enthusiasts. Some say this just may be the best Jaguar since the iconic E-type!
